The MEWA special children’s wheelchair is designed for children with a height of 90–125 cm and a weight of up to 40 kg.

The model combines a durable frame, a stable seating system and easy manoeuvrability. It is convenient for everyday use by both the child and the accompanying person.

The backrest, seat and footrest can be adjusted across a wide range, allowing the wheelchair to be precisely adapted to the child’s individual needs and body characteristics. The front wheels are equipped with a directional locking system.

For additional support, the wheelchair features adjustable lateral supports, seat-reducing inserts, soft padding, leg positioning straps and a five-point safety harness. These elements help maintain a stable and properly aligned body position during walks.

Construction

The MEWA wheelchair consists of two main components: the frame and the seat.

The seat is securely attached to the frame using special hooks and locking mechanisms. A characteristic click indicates that the seat has been properly engaged with the locks.

The seat can be installed either forward-facing or rear-facing, depending on the child’s needs.

Important: Before placing the child in the wheelchair, always make sure that the seat is securely locked into the frame. Carefully move the seat to check that the connection is stable and secure.

Adjustment and Customisation

The MEWA wheelchair seat can be flexibly adapted to the individual needs of children with a height of 90–125 cm and a weight of up to 40 kg.

The seat width and depth can be adjusted using seat-reducing cushions and lateral supports. The footrest can be adjusted in height and angle to provide proper support for the legs and help maintain a stable sitting position.

As the child grows, the reducing cushions can gradually be removed and replaced with a flat insert. The position of the leg supports and abductor can also be adjusted to avoid restricting movement or creating excessive pressure.
